This Panko-Crusted Salmon with Honey-Mustard Glaze is very easy. Rich salmon with a panko crust and a sweet and savory sauce. Ready in 30 minutes!

I like fish. But sometimes, it is not easy to cook a good piece of fish. The fish always turn rough and mushy. Salmon is probably the easiest to handle, and it is ok to be eaten raw. Recently, I found out that I really like crusted fish. The crust gives the fish some crunch. Love the texture! This panko-crusted salmon is very good. It is so simple and easy. It can be done in less than 30 minutes.

Panko-Crusted Salmon with Honey-Mustard Glaze

Ingredients

  • 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
  • 3 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • ½ cup panko (Japanese breadcrumbs)
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (minced)
  • Salt
  • Ground pepper
  • Vegetable oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425˚F. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Lightly oil the aluminum foil to prevent stickiness with the fish.
  • Place the salmon on the baking sheet. Season with salt and pepper, and then set aside.
  • In a bowl, combine the mustard and honey. Stir well until combined. Spread the mustard mixture over the salmon fillets. Don’t be afraid to put more, because all the flavors would be from the glaze.
  • In another bowl, combine the panko, paprika, and thyme. Sprinkle the panko over the salmon.
  • Bake the fish for 12 to 15 minutes. Serve immediately.

Served with creamy ice cream, of course! I made this for my parents when they were in town. Since my mom isn’t a fan of cinnamon, I baked one without it, and honestly? Still absolutely delicious. This soup starts with roasted kabocha squash & thyme, blended w/ onion, garlic, & chicken broth until silky smooth. Topped w/ crispy pancetta, a drizzle of cream, & fresh thyme. It’s layered w/ sweetness, umami, & creaminess. I’ve loved every sip, and I know I’ll be making it again (and again!) once the weather finally cools down. 🎃🍂

Next-level beef bowl!🥩🍚 Red Rock is now opened at Next-level beef bowl!🥩🍚 Red Rock is now opened at The Shops at Santa Anita. It’s a cozy spot w/ only about 14 bar seats, but we’re thrilled they’re now on this side of town. This Japanese restaurant first opened in Torrance in 2017, & we’ve made the trek there a few times. Now? Way more convenient! 

Their claim to fame is the sliced beef don. A rice bowl piled high with tender roasted beef, drizzled w/ sweet soy sauce & creamy yogurt sauce, then crowned with a rich raw egg yolk. In my opinion, the yolk is non-negotiable. It adds extra flavors.

While you’re there, don’t skip the croquette. Perfectly crispy on the outside, with a creamy, savory mashed potato center. Absolute comfort food.

Next time, I’m determined to try their omurice or curry… if I can resist ordering that beef bowl again.😅
